Opens sharp with Sicilian lemon and bergamot, with blackcurrant and spicy notes bringing tension into it straight away. Then the fragrance turns dry and woody: cedar, leather and sandalwood.

How it develops

Sicilian lemon and bergamot open sharp and bright, with blackcurrant adding a dark, faintly sour depth and spicy notes making the citrus more grown-up than an ordinary fresh opening. The heart is fruity and lightly floral: fruity notes and water jasmine, with patchouli leaf laying a green, earthy edge underneath. The base is where it gains its character: cedar and sandalwood, dry and creamy at once, with leather for the structure, vanilla for a hint of warmth and white musk and moss rounding it off clean and muted. Who it's for, and when

Four seasons, from the office to the evening; at its best in spring, summer and autumn. Love citrus and wood but want it drier and smokier, see E-10. Looking for lemon with mint and lavender, X-90 is the fresher neighbour.

How to wear it

Two to three sprays on neck and wrists, on moisturised skin. Don't rub. One spray on a shirt keeps the wood until evening.
