How it develops

The opening is fruity and fresh — juicy, lightly sweet, a short run-up that makes the fragrance more approachable than the rest suggests. Then comes the wood, and that is the whole character: vetiver, dry, smoky and a little earthy, and amberwood, spacious and warm, together a woodiness that smells clean rather than heavy. After that not much more happens, deliberately: the fruit disappears, the wood stays, and what remains is a dry, well-groomed warmth that sits close to the skin all day. Who it's for, and when

Unisex, wearable for him and her. Four seasons, from the office to the evening; at its best in autumn and winter. One of our most wearable niche fragrances for men. How to wear it

Two to three sprays on neck and wrists, on moisturised skin. Don't rub. Wood loves fabric — one spray on a shirt lasts until evening.
