A fruity opening that turns darker almost immediately through incense, patchouli and oud. Rich and ceremonial — one of the most luxurious-smelling men's fragrances there is.

How it develops

The opening is fruit and smoke at once: blackberry and orange, juicy and dark, next to olibanum (church incense) and labdanum, resinous and warm, with coriander and tarragon adding a green, herbal edge. The heart is a feast: honey, cinnamon and clove for the spicy sweetness, bay leaf and celery seed for something green and bitter, rose and orchid for the flower, guaiac wood for the smoke. The base is deep and ceremonial: opoponax and myrrh, agarwood (oud) and patchouli, with ambergris, musk, cedar, immortelle and oakmoss making it warm, dry and long-lasting. Who it's for, and when

How to wear it

Two sprays on the neck, on moisturised skin. Don't rub. It carries far — in a small room one spray is enough.
