One of the boldest fragrances in our collection: smoky incense with herbal oregano, dark and almost medicinal. Settles after an hour into amber and oud, but the smoke stays.

How it develops

Oregano, pepper and bergamot open herbal and sharp — the oregano is the surprise: green, bitter, almost a kitchen rather than a perfume. The heart is where the smoke comes from: incense and opoponax, resinous and church-like, with amber and labdanum laying a warm, sweet glow underneath so it isn't only smoke. The base is big and dark: agarwood (oud) and leather, dry and smoky, with sandalwood and patchouli for the warmth and the earth. From spice cupboard to church to leather armchair, and the smoke runs through all of it.

Who it's for, and when

Unisex, wearable for him and her. Winter evenings. Not as a first niche fragrance, and not for the office. Love incense and oud but want a raspberry-like sweetness with it, see L-140. Looking for incense and oud in a richer, fruitier form, A-240 is the neighbour from the same house.

How to wear it

One spray on the neck is enough for most evenings; two for outdoors in the cold. On moisturised skin, don't rub. More is too much for the people around you.
