Spices and a smoky resin in the opening, then warm wood with amber underneath. Dark and intense — the name is no exaggeration.

How it develops

Spices open hot and herbal, present at once, with a smoky resin adding a dark, almost scorched edge — as if you were standing beside a fire that has just been lit. Then comes the wood: warm, dry and deep, the structure the smoke rests on. The amber in the base makes it round and resinous, so the heat of the opening slowly becomes a warm glow that lasts deep into the evening. Fire, then smoke, then glowing embers.

Who it's for, and when

Unisex, wearable for him and her. Winter evenings. Too intense for the office or warm weather. Love dark and big but want oud and saffron instead of smoke, see I-50. Looking for smoky with rum and tobacco, R-90 is the neighbour.

How to wear it
