How it develops

Blackberry and black elderberry open juicy, dark and slightly tart — more a woodland edge in August than a fruit bowl. The heart is jasmine in two forms: Arabian jasmine (sambac), full and lightly sultry, and ordinary jasmine, bright and white, together floral without becoming heavy. The base is wood, and little else: wood notes for the dryness, oak for a warm, faintly smoky structure that holds the flowers until evening. From berry to jasmine to wood, all of it on a muted tone.

Who it's for, and when

Office and daytime, all year round; at its best in spring, summer and autumn. For the evening it may feel a little non-committal. Looking for clean and floral with pear and white musk, see L-20. Want berries and flowers with more warmth and vanilla, E-30 is the neighbour.

How to wear it

Because it stays light you can be generous: three to four sprays on neck, wrists and décolleté, on moisturised skin. Don't rub. The flowers last longer on fabric.
