Starts fresh and citrusy, but that is only an antechamber: within twenty minutes a warm tonka bean sweetness takes over. Stays close to the skin and draws people towards you rather than away.

How it develops

Bergamot and bergamot leaf open fresh and a touch green — clean, lightly bitter, the only genuinely fresh minutes of the fragrance. The heart is where it becomes interesting: iris and orris, powdery and cool, with aldehydes giving it a soapy shine and clary sage a herbal, slightly hay-like edge. The base is where the seduction sits: tonka bean, sweet and warm like almond and hay, with cedarwood keeping it dry and close to the skin. From citrus to powder to warm sweetness.

Who it's for, and when

An evening and date fragrance, wearable all year. Too heavy for a sporty day. Looking for the same well-groomed warmth but with honey and more flower, see A-200. Want intimate and spicy with cardamom and lavender, L-10 is the neighbour.

How to wear it

Because it stays close to the skin you can use three sprays: neck, wrists and chest, on moisturised skin. Don't rub. One spray on a shirt collar keeps it near all evening.
