Description
Distinctive, leathery and unmistakable. Inspired by Fahrenheit.
Violet leaf and petrol — that sounds strange and smells strange too, but it works. Then it settles into leather and warm wood. One of the most idiosyncratic classics ever made.
How it develops
The opening is a bouquet you don't expect in a men's fragrance: lavender, chamomile, hawthorn and mace, with mandarin, lemon and bergamot for the freshness. The heart is green and floral — violet leaf up front, with sandalwood, cedar and a series of flowers (carnation, honeysuckle, jasmine, lily of the valley) giving it its unusual, almost metallic character. The base is the reason it has stayed famous for so long: leather and vetiver, with musk, amber, patchouli and tonka bean keeping it warm and dry.

Who it's for, and when
Autumn and winter, day and evening. Not as a first perfume, and not if you're looking for something neutral — this is a fragrance with an opinion. Want leather but more approachable, see B-250. Looking for a classic that does suit everywhere, J-20 is the safe choice.
How to wear it
Two sprays on the neck, on moisturised skin, don't rub. Give it half an hour — the opening is sharp, the drydown is where it becomes beautiful.

Warmte en huidolie laten de geur sneller opbloeien, maar ook sneller vervliegen. Op droge huid gaat dat nog sneller.
Op kleding · een dag of langer
Stof heeft geen warmte, dus de geur breekt veel trager af. Voorzichtig met zijde: parfum kan vlekken.
Bewaren
Koel en donker. Warmte en licht breken parfumolie af.
Niet in de badkamer. Schommelende temperatuur is de meest gemaakte fout.
Dop erop, rechtop. Zuurstof laat een geur oxideren.
Twee tot drie jaar na openen voordat de geur merkbaar verandert.
Langer laten hangen
Hydrateer eerst. Geur hecht aan vet, niet aan droge huid. Dit scheelt het meest.
Pulspunten. Polsen, hals, achter de oren.
Niet wrijven. Dat breekt de kopnoten af.
Eén spray op je kraag. Blijft veel langer hangen.
Direct na het douchen. Warme huid neemt geur beter op.
